Senator Jesse Arreguín Endorses Annalisa Perea for State Assembly

Assembly District 31 candidate and Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea earns support from Senate Housing Committee Chair, Senator Arreguín.

Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea continues to secure major endorsements, with the latest addition coming from Senator Jesse Arreguín, who serves as the Chair of the Senate Housing Committee.

“Annalisa Perea is on the frontlines of California’s housing affordability crisis. As a Fresno City Councilmember, Annalisa has protected renters from unjust evictions and fought against rising rents,” said Senator Arreguín. “Councilmember Perea has proven she knows how to get housing built - fast - and clearly demonstrated that restoring housing security in the Central Valley is her top priority.”

His endorsement underscores the growing confidence in Perea's leadership and ability to deliver positive results for working families, based on her record of supporting and investing in her Central Valley community.

“It means a lot to have the support of Senator Arreguín because he understands that tackling our housing crisis requires real partnership and practical solutions,” said Perea. “I’m committed to fixing the housing crisis by streamlining the construction of new housing at every level and keeping families in their homes by stopping unwarranted evictions and unfair rent increases, because every family deserves an affordable, safe place to live.”

Annalisa Perea currently serves on the Fresno City Council, where she has led efforts to expand affordable housing, invest in public safety, and strengthen workforce development programs, earning the support of pro-housing advocates like California YIMBY. A certified city planner and former community college trustee, Perea carries forward a lifelong belief in education, equity, and opportunity for every family.
