Assemblymember Anamarie Ávila Farías Endorses Annalisa Perea for State Assembly

Bay Area leader strengthens Perea’s early momentum with key state legislative support

Assemblymember Anamarie Ávila Farías announced her endorsement of Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea for State Assembly District 31, adding to Perea’s growing list of early supporters.

Councilmember Perea expressed gratitude for the endorsement and emphasized the shared focus on improving outcomes for Central Valley communities. “Assemblymember Ávila Farías has dedicated her career to expanding opportunity and fighting for working families,” said Councilmember Annalisa Perea. “Her leadership and guidance are invaluable, and I’m honored to have her support as we continue working to deliver real results for every family in the Valley.”

Perea enters the race to succeed Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula, who is termed out in 2026. The district is entirely within Fresno County and encompasses a broad coalition of working-class communities and agricultural regions.

Perea, who currently serves on the Fresno City Council and was elected Council President in 2024, has built a reputation for listening to her constituents and delivering tangible results. As a Councilmember, she helped cut violent crime in half through community policing, negotiated a tax-sharing agreement that increased city revenues without raising taxes, and delivered new housing solutions to address Fresno’s affordability crisis.

A lifelong Central Valley resident, Perea is a certified city planner and former community college trustee. Her public service and land use planning work have helped create hundreds of jobs and thousands of homes across the region.
