Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties Building and Construction Trades Council join a growing coalition backing Perea’s campaign.
FRESNO, CA – Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea has earned the endorsement of one of the region’s most respected labor organizations: the Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties Building and Construction Trades Council.
This endorsement reinforces Perea’s strong and longstanding commitment to standing with working families and highlights the growing support her campaign continues to build across the Central Valley.
“I’m incredibly proud to have the support of the thousands of working families who make up the Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties Building and Construction Trades Council,” said Councilmember Annalisa Perea. “Unions are the backbone of the middle class and the reason so many families like mine have been able to build a better life. I will always stand with working people and fight for jobs that are safe, good-paying, and dignified.”
The Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, which represents unionized skilled construction workers across the Central Valley, cited Perea’s leadership on job creation, affordable housing, and infrastructure investment as key reasons for their endorsement.
“Annalisa Perea has always stood with the working men and women of the Central Valley. She understands the value of a strong labor force and has a proven record of delivering real results for our communities,” said Chuck Riojas, Secretary-Treasurer of the Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties Building and Construction Trades Council. “We trust her to fight for good jobs, safe working conditions, and investments that uplift the Central Valley. That’s why we’re proud to stand with her in this race.”
Perea holds a degree in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and previously served as a Trustee for the State Center Community College District. Her career in urban planning has been focused on building communities that are safe, walkable, and affordable — and she’s brought that same focus to her work on the Fresno City Council.
As Council President in 2024, Perea successfully negotiated a long-stalled tax-sharing agreement with Fresno County that increased city revenues without raising taxes, unlocking new funding for services like emergency response and infrastructure.
Councilmember Perea enters the race to succeed Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula, who is termed out in 2026.
