PRESS RELEASE

California School Employees Association Endorse Annalisa Perea for State Assembly.

The California School Employees Association backs Perea’s dedication to students, families, and educators.

The California School Employees Association has officially endorsed Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea for State Assembly District 31. Their endorsement highlights Perea’s deep commitment to public education.

“I’m honored to have the support of the California School Employees Association,” said Councilmember Annalisa Perea. “They are on the frontlines of ensuring our educational facilities run as they should. In Sacramento, I’ll fight for stronger investments in our public schools, and that means investment in our school staff as well.”

Growing up with a mother as a public school teacher, Councilmember Perea has always believed that educational workers should have the resources and environment to succeed, and that quality education must be within everyone's reach. The California School Employees Association, founded in 1927, represents nearly 250,000 school support staff throughout the state, providing a broad range of essential work in our public schools and community colleges. CSEA’s endorsement underscores Perea’s work to advance policies that benefit students, educators, and school staff.

A lifelong resident of the Central Valley, Perea was unanimously elected President of the Fresno City Council in 2024, having previously served as a council member. Her work includes expanding affordable housing, advocating for equity in city contracting, and funding programs that support mental health and inclusive services for marginalized communities.
