Councilmember Annalisa Perea Honors the Service and Sacrifice of Veterans
Central Valley leader expresses gratitude for those who’ve served and calls for continued community support for veterans and their families
As our nation honors Veterans Day, Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea is extending heartfelt gratitude to all who have worn the uniform in service to our country.
“Veterans Day is a time to pause and remember that our freedoms were built on the courage and sacrifice of those who answered the call to serve,” said Councilmember Annalisa Perea. “As we begin the season where we celebrate gratitude, I believe we should begin by showing thanks to our veterans. We owe every veteran not only our appreciation, but our continued commitment to look out for them as they have always looked out for us.”
Perea emphasized that honoring veterans goes beyond ceremonies; it means ensuring they and their families have the care, opportunities, and respect they deserve throughout their lives.
“Here in the Central Valley, we’ve always come together in moments of need,” Perea continued. “When we support our veterans through community, connection, and compassion, we strengthen the fabric of our entire region.”
As Fresno and communities across California gather to celebrate Veterans Day, Perea encourages residents to take a moment to thank the veterans in their lives, reflect on their service, and recommit to building a community that stands with them every day of the year.
Annalisa Perea currently serves on the Fresno City Council and was elected Council President in 2024. A lifelong Central Valley resident and certified city planner, Perea’s work has focused on delivering results for working families, expanding opportunity, and supporting those who serve our communities and our nation.
