Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea Secures Endorsement from the California Federation of Teachers in Assembly District 31 Race.
Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea has earned the endorsement of the California Federation of Teachers (CFT), a statewide union representing educators and classified school employees across California.
“Annalisa Perea has a proven record of delivering results for the people of Fresno. During her time on the Fresno City Council, she consistently prioritized listening to residents, solving real-world problems, and investing in stronger neighborhoods. She has demonstrated a clear and sustained commitment to public education and to advancing equity for students, teachers, and classified professionals,” said Jeffery M. Freitas, CFT President. “We are confident Annalisa will be a strong and effective advocate for educators, students, and families in the Legislature. That is why she has earned the endorsement of the California Federation of Teachers.”
Throughout her public service, Perea has prioritized investments in working families and community infrastructure, recognizing that strong public schools are foundational to economic and regional growth. CFT joins educational leaders like Central Unified School District trustees Joshua Sellers and Nabil Kherfan, and organizations such as the California Teachers’ Association and California School Employees Association, in support of Perea’s Assembly campaign.
“I am honored to have the support of the California Teachers Federation,” said Councilmember Perea. “Their commitment to achieving better working and learning conditions for our educators, students, and working families aligns with my own policy priority. I will continue to work to secure and support policies and resources that ensure every family has access to a high-quality public education.”
Annalisa Perea currently serves on the Fresno City Council, her leadership is grounded in deep community engagement. From tamale giveaways and school supply drives to neighborhood meetings in backyards, she’s built a reputation as a councilmember who shows up, listens, and follows through.
