Council representing 16 locals and affiliates across Southern California backs Perea's campaign for California State Assembly
Annalisa Perea's campaign for California State Assembly today announced the endorsement of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Southern California District Council (ILWU SCDC), one of the most significant labor endorsements in Southern California.
The council represents 16 ILWU locals and affiliates across Southern California, coordinating political and legislative affairs for the longshore, warehouse, and maritime workers who keep California's ports running and its economy moving.
"This endorsement means the world to me. The workers represented by the ILWU are the backbone of our ports, our warehouses, and our supply chains. They keep California moving, and they deserve a fighter in the State Assembly who will always stand with labor, for good jobs, fair wages, and safe working conditions. That is exactly the kind of legislator I intend to be," said Annalisa Perea.
From labor halls to city halls, support for Perea's campaign continues to grow across Assembly District 31. The ILWU SCDC joins a broad and expanding coalition of organizations and leaders who believe the Central Valley deserves a proven champion for labor unions in Sacramento.
Annalisa Perea currently serves on the Fresno City Council, where she has led efforts to expand affordable housing, invest in public safety, and strengthen workforce development programs. A certified city planner and former community college trustee, Perea carries forward a lifelong belief in education, equity, and opportunity for every family.
