Fresno City Councilmember earns support of statewide housing leaders CA YIMBY for Assembly District 31.
FRESNO, CA – Councilmember Annalisa Perea has been endorsed by California YIMBY, a statewide organization dedicated to advancing abundant housing and equitable land-use policies across California.
"Annalisa Perea has a proven track record of getting housing built where it's needed most. On her first day in the Assembly, Councilmember Perea will bring the experience and expertise necessary to urgently fight California's housing crisis,” said CEO Brian Hanlon. “California YIMBY is proud to endorse her and knows Councilmember Perea will be a leader in returning housing affordability to our state."
The endorsement reflects Perea’s commitment to advancing practical, community-centered policies that address California’s housing challenges while ensuring the Central Valley remains a place where families can afford to live, work, and build their futures.
“I am very grateful to California YIMBY for their trust and endorsement,” said Councilmember, Annalisa Perea. “It is an honor to have the support of one of California’s most dedicated and effective housing affordability advocates. I’m committed to fixing the housing crisis in my district by streamlining new construction of all housing and keeping families in their home by stopping unwarranted evictions and unfair rent increases, because every family deserves an affordable safe place to live.”
A lifelong resident of the Central Valley, Perea was unanimously elected President of the Fresno City Council in 2024, having previously served as a council member. Perea holds a degree in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and has built her career as an urban planner dedicated to creating communities that are safe, walkable, and affordable for working families.
